Film Screening: Little Bit of Me
June 1 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT
ACO Styles, in collaboration with Urban Media Arts, invites the public to a “free” screening and discussion about “Little Bit of Me,” a short film that gives tribute to Black mothers of Malden as well as the greater Boston Area.
About the Film
Centering the experiences of Black women through the lens of motherhood, this short film will explore the multifaceted nature of raising young women in today’s world. This film takes a deeper dive into the many choices that these moms are constantly making to open up this world for their little ones. Be it building a strong value system or protecting their children from the politicization of their existence, Black moms have juggled it all. Keeping this in mind, this film does not assign or assume a singular way of motherhood. The film gives an authentic space to brilliantly unique Black moms who talk about what motherhood has been like for them. This film is THEIR story and ONLY THEY get to decide how they want to tell it.
