Malden High School Class of 2021 Holds Graduation

On June 6th, 2021, Malden High School’s 2021 graduating class held commencement to celebrate their accomplishments. The Graduates were welcomed with opening remarks by Mayor Gary Christenson, Superintendent John Oteri, Class President Harriet Gerochi, Orator Jacob Pettigrew, Salutatorian Jiaqi Ye, Valedictorian Zi Yi “Billy” Zeng, and Principal Chris Mastrangelo.

Despite temperatures nearing 100 degrees that day, students gathered in their decorated caps and gowns. After pushing through the heat, Graduates met their friends and families at the entrance of Macdonald Stadium to celebrate.

Graduation was filmed by Urban Media Arts in collaboration with Ron Cochrane and the City of Malden. Camera operators included Payton Lightbody and Kieran Duffy, as well as Urban Media Arts Interns Avion Manong and Patrick Dunn. The event was photographed by Urban Media Arts intern Keren He.
