Malden Public Schools Engagement Resources

Malden Public Schools offers an online engagement resources complete with ideas for curriculum, schedule, and additional resources to feed the curious minds of kids.

Here is the introductory letter from the Guide.

Welcome to Malden Public Schools’ Family Engagement Site

As we navigate through these unprecedented times, we want to ensure that students and their families have a collection of resources to draw upon so that student engagement continues while students are at home.

We are pleased to offer the following learning activities and resources with the goal of providing students and families with learning opportunities that they can participate in while at home.  Please know that this is just a start. These links will be updated and added to in the coming days and weeks; we are working to curate a collection of cool virtual field trips and family activities.    Please also know that any resources and activities are not meant to replace daily classroom instruction, and they will not be graded.

We also know that while students and families enjoy unstructured time, they also like structure and routine – especially our younger learners.  To that end, if you are looking for a place to begin, you might want to check out the simple, sample schedule below to help you think about the structure of  your day in 30-minute blocks. You know your learner’s needs best, so play around with times, activities (i.e. you might want to include “help with chores” in your day!), and length of day.  In the coming days, we’ll provide tips to help you think about keeping kids engaged at home.
