Help us create a Winter Solstice tour around the World

As the Winter Solstice approaches us on December 21st, we thought we’d use technology to start a Winter Solstice traditions tour around the world, that we need your help to fill out. We chose to use Google Earth, an interactive tool that allows you to travel to different parts of the globe from your desktop or device. Anyone can create a tour or interact with the maps in various ways.

Since we are such a diverse community, the Winter Solstice tour is a rich demonstration of how different and similar we all are. Though we may come from different places, celebrate different traditions, speak different languages, we are bound together by the cycle and tilt of the earth.

MATV/UMA intern Amanda DeRosa created this Google tour of Winter Solstice traditions around the globe.

Let us know what you think.

We would love to add a tradition that you practice or know of. Include a one or two sentence description, an image and a link for more information if you would like.
