Malden Reads Opening Celebration for the 14th Season

Malden Reads will kickoff its 2024 program with a public event featuring performances, discussion, and light snacks.
The book choice for Malden Reads 2024 season is “Being Heumann, a memoir of a disability rights activist.” This book is rich with insights about what it means to navigate life with its challenges and discovering the best ways to give everyone the dignity of reaching their potential and living fully.
To highlight the coming season, Malden Reads invites all to an Opening Celebration at the Malden Public Library.
Special guests will each offer a short presentation or performance:
- Author, athlete, and founder of Handi Capable Fitness, James Norris
- Flamenco dancer, choreographer, and founder of LS Flamenco, Laura Sanchez
- Musical savant, Santon
- Malden Public Schools Transition Coordinator, Kelli Collomb
Information from various organizations will be available: Chinese Culture Connection, Shore Educational Collaborative, Easterseals Massachusetts, Bionic.Project, Handi Capable Fitness, Envisioning Access, Inc., Mass Senior Action Council and more
