Marketing Intern Description
Urban Media Arts (UMA) seeks three interns to form a Marketing team to produce, schedule, and analyze social media posts February through April. This “learn by doing and exploring” will leverage the collaborative and creative energy of the three selected team members. They will work together to construct a plan of how they will accomplish the various posts together.
Learning objectives:
Interns will gain real-world experience in the process of researching, planning, and implementing a social media campaign for a nonprofit organization as a team. They will apply Universal Access principles (like Alt Tag, captioning) to media; learn some marketing best practices; test ways to increase engagement on mailing lists; report on social media engagement, and more. Their work has the potential to make a difference for the organization, which in turn will enhance their portfolio of skills and accomplishments.
For this team, we are looking for interns with some of the following skills/interests, with the most important skills *:
- Writing for social media
- Graphic design
- Video editing/production for social media
- Social media: Instagram especially
- Editorial planning calendar
- Social media analytics!!
Location: on site and virtual
Dates: Feb 5 through May 8.
