“About Face” Arts Salon

We’d love to see YOUR face at the “About Face” arts salon!
What is an arts salon? More than a gallery reception, an arts salon is a deeper way to experience an art exhibit – and EVERYONE is invited and welcome. The event will include live music by Ose Schwab (violin) and her son Liam Schwab (keyboard), poetry readings by Robert Hayes and Lisa L. Sears, thoughtful discussion and optional activities for engaging with the artwork.
The featured artist explores the human face in this exhibit of paintings and drawings. As we emerge from the Covid pandemic and the materials masks we wear to cover our faces, these artworks contemplate our human ability to mask or reveal emotions on the surface.
The artist’s work has been described as symbolic, mythic, emotional, colorful, dream-like and nightmarish, always inviting the viewer to imagine beyond the surface.
