This beginner-friendly workshop will introduce you to the basics of photography in a way that inspires confidence and excitement to explore further. This participatory workshop will cover the following:
- A Brief History of Photography
- Common Photography Misconceptions
- Types of Cameras
- Types of Camera Sensors
- Understanding Focal Length
- Types of Camera Lenses
- The Triangle of Exposure
- Guess the camera settings (audience participation)
- Practicing proper exposure (exercise w/ a partner)
Who Should Attend
This workshop is perfect for absolute beginners who want to learn how to take control of their camera settings and improve their photography. Whether you have a DSLR, mirrorless camera, or smartphone, you’re welcome to join.

Asher Pollan is an experienced photographer eager to make photography accessible and for all skill levels. His enthusiasm is contagious. Asher is a key crew member of a new and fun production, a game show called “Couch Quest.”
