MALDEN ACCESS TV

UMA broadcasts the PEG (Public, Educational and Government) programming under the Malden Access TV (MATV) name. Programming for these channels is viewable as indicated below.

Public Access Programming

Channels: Comcast 9, Verizon 28

This channel features original, volunteer and professionally produced programming from Malden and other surrounding communities as well as from across the nation. Content available on demand, streaming, and on the MATV YouTube channel and UMA YouTube channels . Some programs are also available as a podcast.

A sampling of some of the regular programs are below:

“Reeling”- Movie Review Show hosted and produced by Robin and Laura Clifford

“Starship Wrestling” – Jimmie and Josh report on wrestling match results from within the world of professional wrestling.

“02148” – Talk show with discussions about the city of Malden. Hosted by Edwin C. Lucey and Mike Cherone

“In the UMAverse” – a program series that brings together Malden community members for roundtable discussions on topics of interest.

Educational Access Programming

Channels: Comcast 8, Verizon 24

This channel features educational and student sports programming produced by Malden youth, from both public and private schools, as well as city and state organizations.

Government Access Programming

Channels: Comcast 22, Verizon 26

This channel features political and relevant issue-based programming, as well as Malden city government meetings and local election coverage. School Committee, City Council, Planning Board, and Board of Appeals are recorded by UMA staff. These meetings are live streamed on the City Stream and YouTube Live as well as on cable channels. Recordings are available on demand and YouTube.
